A Path of Love. Heart-Centered Living.

Our deepest knowing, our deepest connections, and our deepest most fulfilling experiences in life are accessed through the heart. There may be times in life when it is difficult to awaken to love. But what if each new day we renewed the commitment to live more heart-centered? 

Heart-centeredness is a state of peace in which life is aligned. It is when the choices we make line up with our values and our deepest desires.

Thus, being heart-centered simply means that we are compassionately awake and aware of what we desire in life. We are aligned with our values and we take responsibility for ourselves and our emotions. When we chose a path of love, we connect with the deepest part of ourselves. It is when we step off the path of love that life becomes a struggle and our mental chatter forces us to lose touch with our values, desires, emotions, and empathy.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi expressed it beautifully when he said, “Love shall forever shine on our way and the light will guide our steps, whether we go slow or fast. The light of love shall forever be with us on our way. Love shall forever be the anchor of life. We shall be in love and love shall be in us. We shall live in love, shall grow in love, and shall find fulfillment in love eternal.”

Therefore, when we embrace or choose a path to heart-centered living we are allowing love to be the guiding force for all that we think, say, and do. By choosing guiding principles of love, kindness, and compassion, we can begin living in alignment with our highest self. And like a ripple in the vast ocean of life, when we live in alignment with our hearts (highest selves), we live with deeper connection, compassion, and reverence for others and nature.

COMPASSION FOR SELF

Listen to yourself, deeply listen to your heart's wisdom. Trust yourself. Know your values. Take action in alignment with the heart and not the ego. Offer kindness, words of encouragement, and gratitude whenever possible.

COMPASSION FOR OTHERS

The more we love ourselves, the more love we have to offer to others. As we change our thoughts, words, and actions towards ourselves, we shift our thoughts, words, and actions towards others.

COMPASSION FOR NATURE 

As we begin to live from a heart-centered place, we begin to nurture a deep reverence for nature. We begin to prioritize living in sacred harmony with nature, lessening destruction, and empowering life and love for all beings.


You can see how powerful and transformative love is. By awakening the qualities of the heart we carve a path for healing. Love for ourselves, love for others, and love for the world as a whole. So let’s begin today by planting seeds for greater love. A simple, yet profound, way to choose the path of love is through loving practices like meditation. When we meditate we harmonize our inner and outer worlds infusing and rekindling the sacred ripple of love.

  • Begin by sitting quietly, close your eyes, and simply become aware of your breathing. 

  • Notice your breath in the lower belly, notice your breath as it begins moving up and into your heart space. 

  • Now become more aware of your heart's space, bringing your awareness and attention to your heart's center.

  • Without expectation allow yourself to become more aware of your heart's center, begin to notice perhaps a vibration or a warmth in this area. 

  • As you notice this inner warmth, begin to recite the metta meditation below aloud or silently.

  • Continue to notice and experience your heart’s awakening, your heart’s expansion. The healing power of love.

May I live with love and harmony. 

May you be happy and peaceful.
